Ruby Taylor

Ruby is an artist, maker and educator with over 30 years experience. Appreciated for her ability to teach techniques of basketry and pottery with clarity, patience  and humour. Her courses are relaxed and inclusive atmosphere.

With a BA honours in three-dimensional craft majoring in ceramics she trained as an art and design teacher and taught at secondary school level, later developed her work with a diploma in therapeutic application of the arts and went on to receive formal basketry training in London with a number of UK basketmakers.

She was a team member of East Sussex archaeological museums partnerships teaching ancient craft and technologies to all ages and co-constructed prehistoric-style dwellings.

We discussed how the creative process works and how early influences and subsequent life informs artistic work.
